Using writing, photography, audio, or video, Lewis Hine Fellows
create portraits that connect individual lives to broader social
and political issues. In doing so, they attempt to render the experiences
of marginalized children and their families in ways that reach beyond
statistics and sensationalized media. In addition to sponsoring
and disseminating the documentary work produced by Hine Fellows,
the Lewis Hine Documentary Fellows Program has worked with selected
former Hart Fellows to publish and disseminate their documentary
work.
