WARNING! This is not a token teen exhibit. Our exhibit is meant to counter many mainstream perceptions of what it means to be a teenager, and what it means to be a “good” or “bad” teenager. It reflects our authentic lives and identities as thoughtful, perceptive, responsible youths who genuinely care about the world we live in. As our audience, we don’t want you to fawn over our work or relate to it on the surface level. The images, sounds, and ideas we present to you are intentional and are meant to provoke deeper thoughts about young people in Durham and the lives they lead. We hope that you will be challenged to think and listen, and finally, to engage with us and others in dialogue about these important issues.

Youth Document Durham is a program of the Center for Documentary Studies. Thanks to the City of Durham, the National Endowment for the Arts, the Quintiles Gives Back Fund, the Maurice and Marilyn Prevost Fund, and an anonymous fund of the Triangle Community Foundation; and at Duke University, the John Hope Franklin Center for Interdisciplinary and International Studies, Information Studies and Information Science, and the Kimberley Jenkins Chair of Philosophy and New Technology.

¡AVISO!
