25 and Under/
Photographers

Ruth Kendrick, "Untitled" (detail) |
The work of these twenty five photographers offers an intriguing blend of modern and postmodern photographic approaches. These young artists use photography to learn more about their place in society. Less likely to present the "other" as exotic as documentary photography has been accused of in the past these images explore the artists' everyday worlds. This exhibit is based on the DoubleTake/Norton book 25 and Under/Photographers edited by Alice Rose George. The exhibit, curated by Alice Rose George and Elizabeth Kunreuther, was developed at the Center for Documentary Studies with a grant from the Lyndhurst Foundation. | |
