Deeply Held
Large Format Photography
February 3–March 30, 2005
Porch Gallery
Reception: February 3, 5–7
p.m.
An exhibition of toned black-and-white silver gelatin contact prints
made from 4-x-5-inch negatives by students using large-format view
cameras. Duke University students in this Fall 2004 course at the
Center for Documentary Studies were encouraged to find their own
visual language to investigate and describe something deeply held.
Together, the class created an elegant portfolio. The exhibit also
includes images by photographers who presented their work to the
class.
Claudia Fischmann, Ben Freedland, Karen Meyerhoff, Ashley Nutter,
Hiram Rogers, Emily Rotberg, Dan Ryan, Ron Shah, Sarah Shapiro,
Claire Thompson, Julie Younger
and
Frank Hunter, Tom Rankin, Courtney Reid-Eaton, Lisa Satterwhite
